Today we reflect on a very important question that human beings have asked for thousands of years: Where do we come from, and where do we go after this life?
According to the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha, life does not begin only at birth, and it does not end when this body dies. Our existence continues within the cycle known as Samsara, where beings move through different realms according to their karma. The Buddha explained that we may take rebirth in the Six Realms of Samsara, depending on the actions and intentions we create in this life. Understanding this teaching helps us see the deeper meaning of our lives and reminds us how precious and rare this human life truly is. Because while we are here, we have the opportunity to learn the Dharma, transform our minds, and prepare the path toward wisdom, great compassion, great kindness, and ultimately liberation. The Buddha taught that there are six realms within Samsara. There is the Heaven Realm, where heavenly beings enjoy great pleasure and very long lives. There is the Fighting Demon Realm, also called the Jealous God Realm, where beings are powerful but constantly filled with competition, jealousy, and conflict. There is the Human Realm, where life contains both happiness and suffering. Although human life is not perfect, it is considered the best realm for spiritual practice. There is the Animal Realm, where beings live mostly by instinct, fear, and survival. There is the Hungry Ghost Realm, where beings suffer from deep craving and endless dissatisfaction. And there is the Hell Realm, where beings experience intense suffering created by very heavy negative karma. However, Buddhism also teaches us another possibility. Besides these six realms, practitioners can aspire to be reborn in a Pure Land — a pure realm manifested through the great vows and compassion of a Buddha. For example, the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha is called Sukhavati. If we are reborn in that Pure Land, the conditions are very different from those in the six realms. The environment is peaceful, pure, and fully supportive of spiritual growth. There is no heavy suffering or obstacles that distract us from practice. Most importantly, we can continue learning the Dharma directly from the Buddha. |

After lighting a candle or an oil lamp or any lights, the prayer should be recited in conjunction with the visualization.
May the vessel of the light be equal to the three thousand worlds
Aand their environment,
May the wick of the light be equal to the King of Mountains ( Mount Meru).
May the oil of the light be become the Ocean of boundless .
May there be billions of trillions of lamps in the presence of each and every Buddha.
May the light illuminate the darkness of ignorance of all sentient beings
From the peak of samsara down to the lowest hell,
Whereby they can see directly and clearly all the ten directions Buddhas
And bodhisattvas and their pure lands.
OM VA-JRA A-LO-KE AH-HUNG
EH MA HU
I offer these beautifully exulted clear and luminous lights
To the thousand Buddhas of the fortunate eon,
To all the Buddhas and bodhisattvas of the infinite pure lands
And of the ten directions,
To all the gurus, idems, dakas, dakinis, dharma protectors
And the assembly of deities of all mandalas.
Due to this, may my father, mother and all sentient beings in this life
And in all their future lives,
Be able seeing the actual pure lands of the complete and perfect Buddha directly,
May we become no difference with immeasurable light Buddha,
Due to the power of the truth of the Triple Gem and
The assembly of deities of the three roots.
Please bless me and all sentient beings quickly attain achievements.
TA-DE-YA-THA, PAN-TS GA-DRI A-WA BUDDHA NA-YA SOHA
The light transforms into single brilliant five-bright-color wisdom.
On a lotus and moon disk the syllables OM and DHI appear.
From them, one hundred and eight beautiful goddesses of light, appear, wearing beautiful garments and precious garlands.
Every goddess holds a light in her hands and from them
Emanate billions of trillions of infinite replicas of light-offering goddesses.
All of them make light offerings uninterruptedly
To all the Buddhas in the Buddha fields throughout the entire space,
To all peaceful deities and wrathful deities.
Thus due to the merits of having made such a light offering.
May all the deceased, the benefactors, and migrating beings of the six realms benefit, May all their degenerated samaya and broken vows be restored,
May all obstacles of realization be eliminated
May the obstacles of negative karmas and sins be eliminated,
May the three realms of reincarnation become empty.
Please grant Governance power and Enlightenments.

- Message from Vallerie Vallas I’ve always had an interest in Buddhism. Then one day at Pasadena City College. I noticed a flyer that said “free Buddhist classes in San Gabriel.” I decided to attend. After years of attending, what I learned truly changed my life. The biggest change was finally obtaining some inner peace. The mantras are very powerful. I recite them daily and they always have a calming effect. It was interesting, but with inner peace came insight. I found the benefits of Buddhism to be threefold: 1. Inner peace 2.
